Monica Austin


Monica Z. Austin is responsible for business development with The Hopkins Group. Over the past 20 years, she has served as Vice President of Client Development, Lead Human Resources Implementation Consultant, Human Resources Manager, Human Resources Representative, and Employee Assistance Program Manager. Her industry experience includes financial services, hospital and healthcare, multi-location retail, manufacturing, and human resources information systems (HRIS).

Monica spent seven years with Ceridian, where she consulted clients on optimizing use of their human resources systems, customized software to meet clients' specific needs, managed installation and conversion of HR data, and conducted training classes. She oversaw accounts totaling at least $1 million in annual revenue.

Monica has handled all aspects of HR, including recruiting, hiring/firing, writing policies and procedures, producing HR reports, tracking and reviewing job applications, maintaining databases, attending job fairs, organizing an EAP, tracking benefits and compensation, and maintaining compliance with federal and state law, including ADA, ADEA, OSHA, FLSA and FMLA.

She is an active member of the Dallas community, and has been affiliated with a number of civic and charitable organizations, including National Charity League; CFCAA Children Sponsor; Helping Hands; Hearts and Hammers; past Windsor Park Homeowners' Association Treasurer, Database Manager, and Secretary. She also served on the St. Thomas Aquinas School Board, where her efforts as Green Team Chair earned the Mayor's Environmental Excellence Award for 2 consecutive years. Currently, Monica serves as a Board of Director member for The Community Partners of Dallas.

Monica attended The University of Texas at Austin and holds a BA in Management. She has a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a concentration in Human Resources from The University of Dallas. Monica is currently a member of Dallas Human Resource Management Association and holds an advanced, senior-level accreditation, SPHR, from the national Society of Human Resources Management. She has served as a guest speaker on a variety of topics including: Your Most Important Asset – Your Employees, Hot HR Topics, and Social Media: What's Your Policy?
