Kathleen A. (Kathy) O’Day is a business-savvy Human Resources leader with a track record of developing and executing HR strategies that help grow the business in multi-site, multi-state operations. She is known for implementing Best Practices that positively enhance the bottom line and delight customers. Her experience includes US and International assignments, with extensive background in Benefits, Compensation, and Organizational Development. She has special expertise in planning for people issues that accompany change initiatives. Kathy is recognized for exceptional program management and consultative skills that deliver high impact results.

Prior to joining The Hopkins Group, Kathy worked in telecommunications with the former GTE and Verizon Communications Corporations. In her last position with Verizon, Kathy was assigned to the Puerto Rico Telephone Company in San Juan, where she was responsible for Benefits, Occupational Safety, and Environmental Compliance. Prior to her assignment in Puerto Rico, she was responsible for due diligence, acquisition planning and post acquisition implementation related to Benefits, including design of voluntary and involuntary separation plans. During her career at Verizon/GTE she also held a number of executive roles in Compensation and Benefits, as well as serving as an HR Business Partner. Earlier in her career, she built and led training departments for GTE Corporate and Information Technology groups.

Kathy was recognized many times for distinguished performance at Verizon/GTE, including HR Director of the Year, the Chairman’s Leadership Award and several Awards of Excellence.  She is certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) by the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM).  Kathy serves on the Board of Directors for the Grapevine Chamber of Commerce, the DFW Staffing Management Association (SMA), and the Dallas Human Resource Management Association (DHRMA). She is the current Treasurer and past Secretary for DFW SMA.  She is also the Co-Director for DHRMS’s Professional Emphasis Groups (PEGS) and the Chair of the Human Resources Consultants PEG. Kathy is also the Vice President for the eastern region, Worldwide Employee Benefits Network (WEB). Kathy holds a BS from the University of Wisconsin, an MA from California State University and an Ed.D from Northern Illinois University.
